Amusement, Annoyance and Disappointments

“Why Women Aren’t Funny”

Hitchens’ attempt at answering the question, “Why are women, who have the whole male world at their mercy, not funny?” Amazingly inappropriate (in an attempt to be funny) take on the subject. Most is so bad, I chose not to quote but here is one example, “As every father knows, the placenta is made up of brain cells, which migrate southward during pregnancy and take the sense of humor along with them.” WTF?!

And just to make sure he pissed off everyone, “Oscar Wilde was the only person ever to make a decent joke about the death of an infant, and that infant was fictional, and Wilde was (although twice a father) a queer.“ You can read the joke on line, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

New Learning: This essay was so bad I had to Google it to see what other readers thought…here’s a truly funny send up:

New phrase: As the bishop said to the barmaid, “alright – try it the other way” = an English phrase used as a lead in to a double entendre.
