“So Many Rooms, So Little Time”

Hitchens’ thoughts on why homosexual men risk having sex in public lavatories, inspired by the Senator Larry Craig scandal. Not much of value in this very short and questionably argued essay. Funny story, “The graffiti in cottages was all part of the fun: On the toilet wall at Paddington Station was written: ‘I am 9 inches long and two inches thick. Interested?’ Underneath, in different handwriting: ‘Fascinated, dear, but how big is your d**k?’”

Paddington Station in Victorian Times, before Homosexuality was made legal in the UK.

New Learning: Gay men call public lavatories “tearooms”

New Word: argot = slang, as in "tearoom" for "public lavatory"
