“There Was Not
Looting”
Hitchens’ circumstantial (and in some cases circular)
argument that there were indeed WMDs in Iraq prior to the invasion. His
argument is something like…there was an organized effort to remove equipment
from high tech facilities after the invasion (“organized looting”?)…if they
were capable of moving equipment after the invasion, they could move it before…they
must have moved the WMD before the invasion. Hmmmm…He parodies those
criticizing the Bush administration by summarizing their response as, “There
are no WMD in Iraq. Liar, liar, pants on fire.”…really?
New Learning: The abbreviated plural of WMD is WMD not WMDs…very
important.
